The U-20 WWC is taking place August 5-24, 2014 in Edmonton, Toronto, Montréal and Moncton and the WWC 2015 is running from June 6-July 5, 2015 in Vancouver, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Ottawa, Montréal and Moncton. As the tournaments are quickly approaching, catch up on some of the latest news.
FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup Canada 2014

Canada’s U-20 WWC roster will be announced on Wednesday, July 16 in Vaughan. RNO will be on hand to bring you coverage of the press conference at 8am.
- A 23-player camp for Canada’s U-20 WWC pool concluded on Wednesday, July 9. Their next leg of preparations include a July 16-21 camp and two friendlies against Mexico in Mexico City.
- Reminders:
- At the U-20 WWC, Canada plays Ghana on Tuesday, August 5 and Finland on Friday, August 8, both in Toronto, before completing their Group A matches in Montréal against Korea DPR on Tuesday, August 12.

The official poster of the WWC 2015 was unveiled on Thursday at Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The images are said to “reflect the diversity of Canada’s multicultural society and capture the essence of the great Canadian outdoors”.
- This week, murmurs about WWC 2015 ticket packages hit the Twittersphere. @Sarah_Gehrke and other users tweeted this link to Stadium Passport ticket packages. (Click each venue on the poster for more information). The starting prices at Category 4 are as follows:
- BC Place Stadium, Vancouver: $185 for 8 matches (2 doubleheaders; doesn’t include the final)
- Commonwealth Stadium, Edmonton: $435 for 11 matches (3 doubleheaders)
- Winnipeg Stadium (aka Investors Group Field), Winnipeg: $95 for 7 matches (3 doubleheaders)
- Frank Clair Stadium (aka TD Place Stadium, aka Lansdowne Park), Ottawa: $140 for 9 matches (3 doubleheaders)
- Olympic Stadium (aka Stade Olympique), Montréal: $160 for 9 matches (2 doubleheaders)
- Moncton Stadium (aka Stade Moncton), Moncton: $90 for 7 matches (2 doubleheaders)
- A schedule of match dates are available on the FIFA website.
- The above mentioned Stadium Passports, along with Stadium Half Passes, mark phase one of WWC 2015 ticket sales, which begin on Wednesday, September 10. Purchasers of these packages will have pre-sale access to tickets for the championship final at BC Place.
- The Official Draw will take place on Saturday, December 6 at the Museum of History in Gatineau, Québec.
- Building towards next year’s World Cup, the senior CanWNT will be playing two friendlies against Japan this fall.
- The first friendly is on Saturday, October 25 at Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton. Tickets will go on sale in late August.
- BC Place in Vancouver will stage the second friendly on Tuesday, October 28 and tickets are now on sale with prices starting at $20.
- Canada will then end in the year in residency camp.
- The newest Canadian National Team “home red” Umbro Canada kits were launched in June, which debuted at the WNT’s match against Germany. Jerseys are available for purchase on the Canadian Soccer Association store.
- Coinciding with the kit launch was the Better than Best promotional campaign and video. Fans are encouraged to tweet about “what Better than Best means to them and what they do daily to aim to be Better than Best” using hashtags #BetterThanBest, #CanWNT and #GreaterGoal.
