In this interview, RedNation and Tomer discuss his recently completed breakthrough campaign with VPS in Finland, his future goals as a player on the rise in Europe, his previous experiences with his former club in Moldova and with his hometown side Toronto FC, his aspirations with respect to possibly playing for Canada at the International level and his current offseason training regimen now that he is back in Canada.

2011 Tomer Chencinski season highlights with VPS in the Veikkausliiga:

Canadian Tomer Chencinski is a 26 year old Canadian goalkeeper. Chencinski signed in Finland with VPS after impressing on trial and secured the number one goalkeeper position after Round 6 of the 2011 competition. Playing in his first season in the Veikkausliiga, he has earned six man of the match/three stars of the game performances and was named the Veikkausliiga’s Player of the Week on August 7, 2011. After a standout collegiate career at Fairleigh Dickinson University (NCAA Div 1), Tomer started his professional career with Toronto FC and has played for other clubs such as the Detroit Ignition in the Major Indoor Soccer League, the Harrisburg City Islanders and also the Newark Ironbound Express, where he was named Eastern Conference Goalkeeper of the Year.
