In this interview, RedNation and Steven discuss FC Edmonton’s recently completed first season in the NASL, the possibility of Edmonton moving to the MLS some day, Edmonton’s recent announcement that eleven players will not be returning to the club in 2012, the Canadian impact players on the Alberta-based NASL team, including Shawn Saiko, Kyle Porter and Paul Hamilton, whether or not Canadian International David Monsalve will assume the number one keeper position next year, Edmonton’s success as a development platform for Canadian players and influence of Dutch Head Coaches at both Toronto FC and FC Edmonton.

Based in Edmonton, Alberta, Steven is an experienced sports journalist with many years of experience as a writer and editor and a particular passion for soccer. He has covered Major League Soccer, the United Soccer Leagues, World Cup qualifying, CONCACAF Champions League, women’s soccer and the Canadian Soccer League. Currently he is also the Editor in Chief for soccer website The11.ca and is also the colour commentator on radio broadcasts for FC Edmonton’s home matches on Team 1260.
