Just when you thought you could put 2014 behind you, ESSU reappears after last weekend's 1-0 loss to New England to weigh in on the season that was(n't).
It is two takes on the year with myself, Ian Clarke, definitely the more critical voice, while Steve Bottjer provides a far more even keel on where the team stands. Even on reflection, many points that I had on what I find most frustrating from 2014 could have been stronger. It was noted in the episode, but for the team to spend over $100 million dollars on a 7th place finish is beyond embarrassing and to me is further proof that the priorities with the club are not in the right order.
What comes next, well your guess is as good as mine. I am not convinced that trying another head coach with no senior team experience will result in "ninth times a charm" (or whatever it is, I'm losing count!) and am beyond befuddled how tangible, meaningful experience is something that MLSE feels is not a requisite for operating a football club.
Alas, this is where it stands and we go over some of those topics as well as Jermain Defoe, Vanney, Michael Bradley and even Tim Leiweke. Finally, who is going to actually pony up to fill out a 30K stadium at this point? Never a dull moment with TFC, unfortunately thought the excitement has nothing to do with on field success.
