Milan Borjan made a childhood dream come true Monday when he joined Serbian champs Red Star Belgrade on a 3-year contract.
“It’s been my lifelong dream to play for Red Star and now it’s reality,” Borjan, 29, said at a news conference.
Borjan leaves Bulgarian side Ludogorets Razgrad after 2 season and 16 appearances. Earlier this year, he spent 6 months with Poland’s Korona Kielce, making 14 appearances.
The moves follows a strong showing by Borjan at the CONCACAF Gold Cup. He will battle Damir Kahriman and Aleksandar Stankovic for the starter’s slot, one that is vacant following the departure of Filip Manojlovic to Getafe of Spain’s top flight.
The move is Borjan’s third stint in the nation. He played with Rad from 2009 to 2011 and Radnički Niš in 2015.
