Keeper Jayson Leutwiler has left his long time club Shrewsbury Town for newly relegated Blackburn Rovers. Both teams will play the 2017-18 season in EFL League One (the third tier of English soccer).
Leutwiler, a Swiss-born 28 year-old Canadian Men’s national team player, was with Shrewsbury Town since 2014.
He helped the team earn promotion from League Two in 2015, leading all of Europe in clean sheets that season, and appeared in 118 games for them. He joined the Canadian program in 2016 and has 2 caps.
Blackburn Rovers were relegated from the EFL Championship in 2016-17 and are seeking a return to the second tier.
The move reunites Leutwiler and his ex-Middlesbrough boss Tony Mowbray.
