The OPS midfielder and former TFC player reveals the ten players he would most like to play with to form his ideal starting eleven in an attack-minded 4-3-3 formation.
GK – Thibaut Courtois, Chelsea – He is young and very confident. I think he has a very good aerial game and is also good on the floor. For the simple reason that he came in and replaced Petr Cech, he would be my starting keeper.
RB – Branislav Ivanovic, Chelsea – He is very versatile and can play numerous positions well. Ivanovic is a workhorse and a good defender. He is also very strong and he likes to get forward and chip in offensively.
CB – Vincent Kompany, Manchester City – He is a beast and an excellent leader. Kompany is consistent in every game and you know exactly what you are going to get from him in every game.
CB – Sergio Ramos, Real Madrid – Sergio Ramos is similar to Kompany is some ways. He can play out of the back and he is even more combative.
LB – Marcelo, Real Madrid – He is very ambitious when attacking. He can play both sides – he can attack and defend and he can whip in a good cross. I like his charisma and the way he carries himself.
CM – Nigel de Jong, A.C. Milan – To me, De Jong is a no nonsense kind of player. He works very hard, will make tackles, break up passes and he reads the game really well. I will feel safe with him in front of the back four.
CM – Yaya Toure, Manchester City – He is tall and strong and has an excellent presence on the field. Toure also has a lot of speed and he is another leader who I think would complement Vincent Kompany.
AM – Andres Iniesta, Barcelona – Iniesta is a genius on the ball. He has that third eye and sees things that normal players would not see.
CF – Cristiano Ronaldo, Real Madrid – This pick is self-explanatory. He is an all-around player. I know if I will be whipping in crosses, he will be on the end of them for sure.
RF – Lionel Messi, Barcelona – Messi is a genius and a player who is unpredictable. You never know what he will do. He is also very entertaining. Every time he touches the ball people get up out of their seats. Messi can score at any given time.
