The Canadian Men’s National Team arrived in Seattle ahead of the team’s second match of the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup against Mexico on Thursday. Upon arrival, the team was greeted by D.C. United striker Kyle Porter who was called into the camp to bolster Canada’s attacking line following the departures of strikers Simeon Jackson and Randy Edwini-Bonsu. Kyle Porter discusses his call-up by Canada ahead of the squad's match against Mexico on Thursday: Jackson left Canada’s Gold Cup camp with the blessing of the team’s staff on Monday to pursue a club commitment in Europe. Fellow forward Randy Edwini-Bonsu also left the Canadian team on Monday due to injury he picked up in training. The two departures weaken a Canadian attack that was held scoreless by Martinique in Canada’s 2013 Gold Cup opener on Sunday, with Jackson being one of the few Canadian players who impressed offensively against Martinique and Edwini-Bonsu having played impressively in Canada’s friendly fixtures this year. The changes leave Canada with a 21-man roster at present. No further call-ups are expected at this time. Porter will now try to fill the void in Canada’s squad left by the departures of Jackson and Edwini-Bonsu. The D.C. United striker featured in a Canada U-23 camp in 2012 and recently earned his first cap for the Men’s National Team in January of this year. The 23-year-old Toronto-born attacker has featured in 16 matches for D.C. United in 2013. Julian de Guzman discusses Canada's chances against Mexico on Thursday:
