Pleased to meet you. We are the guys on From the Black Hole. Although this is officially Episode 5 of our very young podcast, this will be our first podcast released after our move to RedNation Online. The personalities on our podcast are Lars Lowther (regular RNO contributor), Jeff Salisbury, and Rob Notenboom, all Saskadelphians, and its purpose is to help assuage our soccer obsession while contributing to the soccer media landscape.
We try and discuss topics around the sport in Canada that are we are interested in, especially the national teams, the Canadian MLS teams, and other topics with a local flavour. We try and bring a prairie perspective to these topics, but in reality, we are not completely sure what that is. The title ‘From the Black Hole’ is part self-deprecating dig at ourselves and our province, part dig at people from other regions, and meant at least partially ironically.
We record our podcast over Skype and using software that is completely free, and therefore a few sound oddities are inevitable. We intend to release a new episode about every two weeks so look for us here and hope you enjoy the podcasts.
From the Black Hole Episode 5: In our latest episode we briefly discuss the Canadian Women’s National Team and their performance in the recent Cypress Cup, touch on recent news in the Saskatchewan Soccer landscape including the establishment of the new Whitecaps Academy in Saskatoon and Saskatchewan Soccer Association reform, and we finish it off with a full discussion of the Canadian MLS teams’ early season performance.
