Canadian-born forward Milan Beader recently signed for the under-19 team of FK Rad in Belgrade, Serbia coached by Milija Zizic. Rad recently produced four players for the Serbian national under-19 team that won the UEFA European Under-19 Football Championship in July this year. Rad is also notable for kickstarting the careers of Canadian internationals Milan Borjan and Stefan Cebara.
Beader (born February 12, 1996 in Hamilton, Ontario) has spent time with OFK Belgrade’s youth program and with TFC Academy’s junior program in the 1995/1996 generation coached by Jim Brennan.
Beader is of Serbian descent. His uncle is former Canadian international Milan Kojic. Beader has represented Ontario provincially and has seen action in the Canadian Soccer League for the senior sides of SC Waterloo Region and Serbian White Eagles FC.
Beader let RedNation Online in on his first thoughts upon signing.
“My first impressions of Rad are very good. They have a great academy and focus a lot on the development of young players,” Beader said. “The training is top notch.”
“My time with TFC Academy helped me develop a lot because there was good training and there were a lot of impressive players which brought the level of play up at training and games. They helped me become a better player.”
